Know where you came from and where you are going
Dear Grandkids, we would like to take this opportunity to tell you about our family
. Where we came from and what is the way we paved for ourselves and for you.
Its all about Love
Our Love Story
After saving our money for 4 years plus our wedding gifts, we put a deposit on a 1/4 acre piece of land in Morganville, NJ. It was quite rural as you can see. It was actually a peach orchard originally. The family thought we were moving to Europe as it was over an hour from our Brooklyn, NY residence.
When you love – you know
Being Jewish
Introduction
Growing up in the New York City area in the 1940's, as Dale and I did was a bit challenging to keep our "Jewishness" alive. Post WWII America was on a very fast pace to grow quickly in every aspects of our lives. Younger American Jews, especially those who fought in the War, did not have time for the rigidness and structure of Othordox Judaism. They wanted something more modern and less restrictive. The following stories will tell wonderful stories of how the 2 of us lived and built our lives, and families, while always trying to respect and honor our Jewish Religion.

Terry 1964
I think this is the only picture of me in uniform. I am on the right, with Dale right next to me. My friend Stan Greenstein, and his girl friend of the day, are the other couple. This picture is from basic training, at Fort Dix, in NJ, in late 1964. I was in the National Guard which was a 6 year commitment. I never saw military action, but was called upon to fight a forest fire, in Peekskill NY one summer, deliver mail during the Federal mail strike of 1970, called up to patrol streets during the Great Northeast Blackout of November 9, 1965, and was preparing to fight race riots, in
NYC, during the summer of 1967. Fortunately the New York City Police Department was able to handle it.
